Ranking of the salaries of 213 pharmaceutical company secretaries is publicly released
Recently, the Standard Points Financial Research Institute, in collaboration with the Investment Times, has released the "2017 Report on All Samples of Company Secretaries of Listed Companies in China." Data on 2016 remuneration was available for 2863 company secretaries, with an average salary of 498,500 yuan.
According to statistics from the Pharmaceutical Mobile Report, remuneration data was available for 213 company secretaries in the pharmaceutical and biological industry, with an average salary of 472,600 yuan. This represents a slight decrease compared to 498,000 yuan in 2015. Simultaneously, the ranking of average salary among all 28 industries dropped sharply from 7th to 14th place.
In terms of education, excluding two company secretaries who did not disclose their educational background, 114 company secretaries in the pharmaceutical and biological industry hold a master's degree or above, accounting for 47.7%. However, the proportion of those with a bachelor's degree or below (9.21%) is also nearly two percentage points higher than the industry average.
In terms of age, those born in the 1970s remain the main force of company secretaries in the pharmaceutical and biological industry, with 129 individuals, accounting for 53.53%. Using this as a dividing line, the combined number of those born in the 1950s and 1960s is 75, accounting for 31.12%, while the number of those born in the 1980s is 37, accounting for 15.35%. Newcomers born in the 1990s have not yet appeared.
Specifically, Zheng Dan, company secretary of the privately-owned company Red Sun Pharmaceutical, ranked first in the pharmaceutical and biological industry's company secretary salary list with a high salary of 3,414,500 yuan. Closely following are Pu Xiaoping of Bost Pharmaceutical and Liu Zheng of Shanghai RAAS, with annual salaries of 3,042,600 yuan and 2,337,100 yuan respectively.
In addition to the above three, there are 10 other company secretaries in the pharmaceutical and biological industry with annual salaries exceeding one million yuan. They are Zhou Hui of China Resources Sanjiu, Meng Xiaodong of Harbin Pharmaceutical Group, Fan Yanxi of China Resources Double Crane, Wang Xinxia of Jiasitang, Lei Ming of Luyan Pharmaceutical, Wei Dongsong of Modern Pharmaceutical, Tong Jia of Betta Pharma, Zhou Lijun of Crown昊Bio, Zu Youdong of Libang Instruments, and Cui Dingchang of Zhongheng Group. Among these 13 company secretaries with annual salaries exceeding one million yuan, nine have a master's degree or above, excluding Pu Xiaoping of Bost Pharmaceutical who did not disclose their educational information.
Furthermore, 83 company secretaries had 2016 salaries of less than 300,000 yuan, and the salaries of the bottom 10 company secretaries hovered around only 100,000 yuan. Eight of these company secretaries work for privately-owned companies. The company secretary with the lowest salary is Wu Cong of Huaren Pharmaceutical, with a 2016 salary of 17,000 yuan.
